# Chemical Engineering students return from Faculty-led Program Abroad in Denmark

>
> ## Students in the CLP and CHY completed Faculty-led Program Abroad in Denmark.
>

Students in the [Chemical Engineering Technology \(CHY](https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/CHY.html)\) program and [Chemical Laboratory Technology – Pharmaceutical \(CLP\)](https://www.senecacollege.ca/programs/fulltime/CLP.html) program in the School of Biological Sciences & Applied Chemistry traveled to Aarhus, Denmark — originally a fortified Viking settlement — for two weeks to participate in a faculty-led program abroad \(FLPA\).

In collaboration with the Business Academy Aarhus, students completed a research-based project focused on the chemical engineering, chemical and microbiological testing, and sensory analysis of the beer-brewing process. As part of this project, students brewed their own beer using the school’s pilot-scale brewery and utilize a variety of chemical and microbial characterization techniques to gain insight into the process of brewing beer.
