There are several reasons this may occur:

    1. Expired Temporary Accommodation Letters: If a students temporary accommodation letters have expired, they will no longer be visible in the portal. To review or renew their accommodation requests, students will need to connect with an Accessibility Counselor.

    2. Incorrect Distribution: If students haven't properly distributed their accommodation letter, instructors may not be able to see it. In our system, each week of courses is often represented as individual courses from i3. This means students need to distribute their letter to each instance of the course in their portal for faculty to access it.

    3. Instructor change/update: Our system retrieves course information from i3, which can affect how accommodation letters are displayed; if the teaching faculty is changed during the course, the update will be captured in our system once it is made in i3.

    Additional Information:

    • The Accessibility Learning Services (ALS) team regularly emails and guides students on how to correctly distribute their accommodation letters to ensure faculty can view them for the semester.
    • Faculty can access previously distributed accommodation letters through their emails or by contacting their program coordinator for a copy. They can also remind students to ensure their letters are distributed correctly.
