Asian Heritage Month 2023

Asian Heritage Month lets us develop a deeper understanding of the diverse Asian diasporas who have been a vital part of Canadian society and history for hundreds of years.

Our theme this year is "Asian Women in the Media" and we have planned an exciting month, with several activities and guest speakers scheduled.

Jenny Jay

Join us virtually to learn about Jenny Jay's lived experiences, the need for inclusion and celebrating culture.

Domee Shi

Domee Shi, Canadian Filmmaker and Director of Disney-Pixar’s Turning Red, will be joining us virtually to chat about "representAsian" in media and how her experiences as an Asian woman growing up in Toronto shaped the art she makes today.

Dragon Dance Demonstration

Get in on the action and learn the basics of a traditional Chinese dragon dance performance through a mini workshop.
