WHAT IS InnWIL?
The Innovation Work-Integrated Learning (InnWIL) program is designed to provide students with a unique opportunity to develop intrapreneurial skills by solving real-world challenges posed by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This 13-week program integrates academic learning with hands-on problem-solving, equipping students with the tools to drive innovation in professional settings.
Students participating in the InnWIL program will work collaboratively to:
Identify and craft clear problem statements based on the SME's challenge.
Conduct in-depth research to explore the problem's root causes and potential impacts.
Use methodologies such as design thinking and systems thinking to generate creative and actionable solutions.
Learn and apply project management skills, including tools like Gantt charts and SCRUM, to manage their projects effectively.
Supported by mentors and industry experts, students will gain practical and professional skills as they develop innovative proposals and deliver final pitch presentations to the SMEs. Skills developed in the InnWIL program will be valuable whether students aim to innovate within an existing organization or pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
Upon successful completion of the InnWIL program, students will receive:
Their academic WIL credit
A HELIX micro-badge
Opportunities for further intrapreneurial skills development through HELIX initiatives
PMI Ready Certification
