To fix the invisible mouse cursor in recent Kali Linux versions on VMware, you must upgrade the Virtual Machine hardware compatibility level.
Primary Solution: Upgrade Hardware Compatibility
Shut down your Kali Linux VM completely.
In the VMware Library, right-click on the Kali VM name.
Select Manage > Change Hardware Compatibility.
Follow the wizard:
Click Next.
Under Hardware compatibility, select the highest available version (e.g., Workstation 17.x).
Click Next and select Alter this virtual machine.
Click Finish.
Power on the VM, the cursor should now be visible.
