What is Cyber Security Awareness Month (CSAM)?

Cyber Security Awareness Month (CSAM) is a global initiative held every October to raise awareness about the importance of cyber security. The goal is to help individuals and organizations stay informed and protected against the growing threat of cyber attacks.

Catch the Phish and Win: Phishing Derby 2026

During the month of October, the IT Security and Compliance Office creates a variety of phishing simulations which are sent to your Seneca email address. Think you’ve spotted one? Hit the "Phish Forward" button (Hint: look for the red fish!) and you will be entered to win that week’s prize.

The IT Security and Compliance Office is offering the 2026 Foundational Online Security Awareness digital badge  for students and employees who complete the training and score 100%.

Those who earned a previous badge must retake the training to receive the 2026 version. Remember to submit and register for the badge using your Seneca email to qualify for the prize!

During CSAM, Seneca Polytechnic offers a variety of prizes that can be won by completing any or all of the monthly activities. The best part? The more activities you complete, the more chances you have to win!
