Zoom is one of several video conferencing tools available for online meetings and collaboration at Seneca Polytechnic. Zoom is also a teaching tool and integrated with Blackboard (Learn@Seneca). The platform offers essential features for interactive online meetings.

License

All active students are eligible for a Seneca Zoom licensed account. To use this account, please follow steps below for configuring and signing in.

Features Overview

Device access Desktop app, mobile app, web browser
Meeting capacity Up to 300 participants, unlimited minutes
Basic features Audio, video, chat, recording, waiting room, attendance
Interactive features Sharing content, whiteboard, breakout rooms, polls/quizzes
Considerations Automatic live transcript/closed captions 

  Step 1    Configuring your account

  • Go to zoom.senecapolytechnic.ca and click Sign In
  • Enter your Seneca username and password
  • If you receive a prompt from Microsoft, select your Seneca email and allow access
  • Your Seneca licensed Zoom account is now configured and activated!

  Step 2    Signing in with your Seneca Zoom license (SSO)

  • Launch the Zoom app or website, click Sign In
  • Select sign in with SSO
  • Enter new company domain:  senecapolytechnic
  • You might need to enter your Seneca username and password

Tips for Blackboard/Learn@Seneca or if you have other Zoom accounts

  • Before joining a Zoom meeting, sign out of your other Zoom account
  • Then, sign in with your Seneca Zoom licensed account (with SSO)
