Bhavyata Kalyan's Transformative Journey with Summer Abroad 2023 to France | Global Learning and Engagement

I'm Bhavyata Kalyan, a second-year Biotechnology student. I learned about a Summer School in France on Formulation Chemistry of Cosmetics & Fragrances through Seneca. I have always been keen on learning new things, and this opportunity was too good to be missed.

The experience included lab work, lectures from companies like Dior, Chanel, and L’Oréal, among others, and cultural visits. Beyond the hands-on lab experience, where we made lipsticks, sunscreens, and lip balms, we also had the opportunity to form valuable connections in the high-end makeup industry, which would not have been possible without Seneca introducing us to this.

This knowledge about the cosmetic and fragrance industry, gained from my personal experience, sets me apart, and I will cherish this opportunity for life.

During this three-week school, I learned how easily I can adapt to my surroundings and socialize with people around me. Soon, everybody around me felt like family, and a part of me will always want to go back and relive this journey.
