What is CQ?

Cultural intelligence (CQ) is the capacity and capability to relate and work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. It encompasses the ability to understand, adapt to, and navigate cultural differences, fostering successful interactions in both personal and professional settings.

By exploring your CQ, you will gain the confidence to function more effectively across cultural contexts and intercultural workplaces, both at home and abroad.

To earn the Badge & transcript recognition  

    • Complete ALL deliverables for the asynchronous work. There are no grades; tasks are marked as complete or incomplete. 
    • Participate in at least 2/3 of the in-person workshops

CQ is offered for FREE!

CQ is delivered in a hybrid format of 10 modules:

    • 7 asynchronous modules to complete online
    • 3 in-person workshops delivered at Newnham campus

Learning Outcomes

CQ consists of 10 modules delivered in a hybrid format. Once completing CQ, you will be able to:

  1. Engage with others from different cultures to strengthen intercultural relationships. 
  2. Analyze perspectives, power, and privilege to address intercultural misunderstandings. 
  3. Reflect on intercultural skill development with concrete examples to build self-awareness. 
  4. Adapt language and communication channels to improve intercultural interactions.
  5. Collaborate with peers in intercultural groups to address complex challenges.
