Did you know Brussels is a global hub where cultures converge and business negotiations flourish? One such opportunity lies in the realm of international business strategies. In a city known for its diverse population and vibrant economic activity, Brussels provides a unique environment for honing negotiation skills.

This Faculty-Led Program Abroad to Brussels: Nego 4.0: Next Gen! allows EPHEC students to develop international negotiation skills, experience the dynamic intersection of global trade and investment, and reflect on international business practices.

Over two online sessions in October, followed by a full week on campus at EPHEC in Brussels, you’ll gain vital skills in business strategy, financial analysis, legal risk management, and cross-cultural communication. This program is your gateway to becoming a future business leader, equipped to navigate complex international negotiations.

Eligible programs for this opportunity include BAB and BAO students currently in semester 4. Participants will earn credits for their respective courses: BAO students for MGS522: Negotiation Strategies for Business, and BAB students for SIB555: International Relationship Management.

  • Application Deadline: July 28, 2024
  • Acceptance Date: 2 - 4 weeks after the application deadline
  • Pre-Departure Orientation: Approx. 2 months pre-trip
  • Return Debrief: Approx. 1 month post-trip

+Eligibility Requirements

 

  • BAB and BAO students currently in semester 4 that have not yet earned the approved course equivalencies. See the "Course Credits" section below.
  • Have a minimum program GPA of 2.5 and be in good standing
  • Open to domestic and international students
  • Have no hold or outstanding balance on the student account.

+Fees and Funding

 

Program fee: 290 EUR approx.

    • Included:
      • Meals (breakfasts, lunches and 1 supper)
      • Accommodation from 20 to 25 October (5 nights)
      • Social programme and material  
    • Not included: flight tickets, applicable visa fees, meals outside of program itinerary, personal travel, souvenirs, vaccinations required, or otherwise.

Note: Students will be responsible for paying for their flights. However, the itinerary will be booked for the entire group. Seneca will collaborate with EPHEC to coordinate all logistics and travel arrangements for the group.

Funding:

Seneca provides up to $2,000 in funding to accepted students to offset the program fee.

Funding is awarded automatically upon application. No additional funding application is required.

+Do I need a visa?

 

Depending on your home country, you may need a Short stay visa (Schengen visa) for Belgium.

Students are responsible for visa applications. We highly recommend students research the visa process as soon as possible. Seneca and EPHEC will provide support letters for accepted students if they are necessary for the visa application.

Traveling students must adhere to all jurisdictional guidelines and/or regulations of their host country and host institution. All accepted students are responsible for ensuring they meet the entry and exit requirements of their destination country. This information is subject to change at any time.

Seneca relies on the Government of Canada’s (GOC) Travel Advice and Advisories and the associated risk level for each destination to assess whether students should engage in an overseas activity. While we make every effort to prepare students for a successful trip overseas, circumstances may arise that are beyond our control.

Students who accept to participate in a global learning opportunity must accept as a condition of participation the possibility that the program may be cancelled or terminated early due to concerns over the safety and security of students. If cancellation or termination occurs, we will refund any payments you have made and withdraw any disbursed grants. Participants may encounter additional and unexpected financial and academic implications. Seneca will work to mitigate negative implications to the best of its ability. 

International Students are required to meet with an immigration specialist to ensure their program of study and/or study permit will not be negatively impacted by travelling abroad.
