About the Visiting Scholar Program

Seneca welcomes colleagues from around the world through our Visiting Scholar Program!

The purpose of the Visiting Scholar program is to:

  • Foster international collaborations;

  • Engage scholars to contribute new perspectives to academic endeavors by filling gaps in programming or adding complimentary knowledge;

  • Enrich Seneca’s classrooms through international engagements;

  • Provide an exciting and enriching opportunity for faculty from around the world.

A Visiting Scholar is an individual from an external institution visiting Seneca with the purpose of advancing academic and international initiatives. Activities of Scholars may include one or more of the following while at Seneca:

  • Teach (provide a full course)

  • Guest lecture (presentation/s within a course)

  • Research (preferably in collaboration with a Seneca faculty member)

  • Explore joint collaborations between Visiting Scholar’s institution and Seneca. Collaborations may include development of pathways, programs, and student mobility opportunities, etc.

In addition to academic initiatives, Visiting Scholars may participate in institutional activities such as departmental meetings and specially arranged seminars for students or faculty. Scholars will also be asked to report on their experience and resulting collaborative initiatives to the Seneca community.
