Athena began her journey in teaching more than 25 years ago when she agreed to take on a part time teaching position with the Academy of International Design. Since then she pursued her passion for teaching at various Colleges across the province. In 1991 Athena was recruited to Seneca College for her expertise in Retail Management. Since then, she has enhanced her teaching by completing her Masters of Education with a focus on instructional design and experiential learning.
Athena’s background includes working in various sectors of the service industry. Her roles have ranged from Regional Manager – In Store Marketing for Holt Renfrew and the Hudson Bay Co. to Manager of Marketing and Communications for Ikea. She has participated as a member of several retail / services round-table discussions and serves as consultant to many global organization to provide innovative strategies to increase sales and improve guest experience.
