On Sept. 21, in partnership with Kingbridge Centre and other volunteers, Seneca’s employees and students reached their goal of planting 1,000 trees during National Tree Day. The event was supported by King City and Tree Canada. The trees were planted within the centre’s forest and their nursery to increase the availability of native species, reduce the carbon available in the atmosphere, improve soil and water conservation and enhance biodiversity in King Township.

Currently, the Office of Sustainability is in conversation with Kingbridge Centre to explore the feasibility of applying their best practices to start a tree nursery at King Campus.
