Pride Month is a time for the community and its allies to honour the histories, spotlight the resilience and celebrate the contributions of two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (2SLGBTQ+) communities. For some, Pride is a time for celebration, for others reflection and resistance, and each expression is valid.
Even with meaningful progress, many still do not understand the diversity within 2SLGBTQ+ communities or the challenges people continue to face. Pride asks us to listen, to learn and to uplift those whose experiences are often overlooked.
Seneca is committed to supporting 2SLGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty in ways that affirm their identities and honour their lived experiences. This month and every month, we celebrate the wins, acknowledge the work ahead and stand with those who deserve to feel safe, valued and heard.

Campus Art Feature
Lori Newdick is a Toronto-based artist and photographer that has work featured both nationally and internationally. Her work explores queer identities and visual culture, with the pieces challenging truth and representation.
Strange Thirsts is part of Newdick's Heroine Series and is a 1999 fujicolour print composed of a lesbian pulp fiction cover, graphic instruction in necktie folding and a blurred image of a butch lesbian. The series explores the struggle of having an identity that is not commonly portrayed in mainstream culture. The work provides commentary on how predominant, gendered stereotypes often act to marginalize those that do not fit within the confinements of these identites.
Visit Strange Thirsts between B3092 & B3094 Level 3, Building B, Newnham Campus • Learn more in the art catalogue
