The International Student Support Team will be hosting a series of sessions to support your arrival and settlement in Canada. 

Preparing to Start at Seneca 

Join this session to learn about travel requirements, arrival supports and resources available to ensure you have a fantastic journey and a successful start at Seneca. We will guide you through the necessary steps to take before leaving your country as well as, what to expect at the airport, and upon arriving in Canada.

Housing in Toronto 

Looking for a comfortable accommodation is an essential part of your journey abroad, and Seneca is here to assist you in making the transition to living and studying in Canada as smooth as possible. Whether you prefer living on or off-campus, or homestay, we provide a range of housing options to choose from that will make you feel at home.

Our International Student Transition Coordinators will share valuable insights, tips, and resources to help you navigate the process of finding suitable housing options that fit your needs and budget. We will guide you through the important steps and factors you should consider when deciding where to live.

The Canadian Classroom

The Canadian classroom is a significant part of your education at Seneca. You will spend a considerable amount of time there, and we want to make sure you are prepared. Learn about the fundamentals of classroom culture, assignments, what to expect, and receive tips for engaging with professors and fellow students.

Refugee Claimants and Protected Persons Information Session

Join the Immigration Specialist team to learn important information regarding:

• Study permit requirements
• Definition of full-time status and why the need to maintain full-time status
• Co-Op Work Permit - Do you need one?
• Eligibility to work on and off campus
• What is a Leave of Absence and its impacts on you
• Changing Designated Learning Institution (DLI)

Morcare (Alumo) Virtual Session:

Join this virtual session to learn more about Morcare (Alumo) your health insurance provider.  It will cover details about your benefits and coverage and explain how to submit a claim.  Learn how to access mental health support as an international student. You also have access to crisis support in the language of your choice through WeConnect.

You will also have an opportunity to get your questions answered by a Morcare representative.
