When should I make the call?
Once circumstance meet the threshold of someone having reasonable grounds to suspect that a child is, or may be at risk of, experience maltreatment the call should be made immediately. More specifically, individuals should make every effort to call CAS or an Indigenous Child and Family Well-being agency the same day (ie. within 24-hours) they have suspicions a child may need protection as outlined in Section 125 of the CYFSA.
