Katie McDonald’s path at Seneca started with a diploma in Early Childhood Education, but life changes led her to explore new opportunities. Encouraged by a friend, she enrolled in the Behavioural Sciences (BHS) diploma program and loved it so much that she continued into the Honours Bachelor of Behavioural Psychology (BBP) degree through Seneca’s academic pathways. This seamless transition allowed her to build on her knowledge and open doors to more career options, including the possibility of pursuing a master’s degree.
Beyond academics, Katie embraced online learning, engaged with classmates, and participated in extracurriculars like the SMILE mentorship program and the Behavioural Exploration Club (Bex). These experiences helped her develop leadership skills and expand her professional network. Her work placement in an elementary school further solidified her passion for applied behaviour analysis and supporting children with diverse learning needs.
Katie's story is a testament to how Seneca’s pathways can lead to exciting new opportunities, and she encourages students to explore their options, seek support when needed, and embrace the journey ahead. Read her full Success Beyond story here.
