The students of BSA program have started a club called Seneca Engineering Students’ Society using SSF club resources.
The club was proposed by Professor Vida Movahedi and started by three students in Summer 2022. Later in the winter semester of 2023, Professor Jacky Lau was appointed as the faculty advisor of SESS (Seneca Engineering Students Society). Once the club was up and running, they started hosting events and saw lots of traffic and today SESS is a club of approx. 100 members.
Moving forward, SESS is also planning to be a member of ESSCO (Engineering Student Societies Council of Ontario) and CFES (Canadian Federation of Engineering Students) which will help expand the network for the members.
The goal of SESS events is to raise awareness on how the club members can benefit from participating in the events. They can test their ideas by conversing with their classmates, forming connections with other participants in the program, exchanging stacks of notes, and learning from one another on this excellent platform. With the assistance of all the newcomers who brought their vitality to the event by interacting with each other and participating in the Quiz, the recent Engineering Event hosted by the SESS turned out to be a great success.
Moving ahead in the upcoming months, SESS will focus on holding events that are more academic in nature, in addition to hosting workshops, tutorial sessions, contests, and a ton of other enjoyable activities.
