    Yes, it does. It is important to note that IRCC uses Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) to determine the official time and date of submission for online applications.

    If your study permit is expiring today, you must submit your extension before 11:59 p.m. UTC on that date and not your local time in Canada. This means your application might be considered late, even if you submit it before midnight in your own time zone (eg. Eastern Time).
