Three students from Seneca’s School of Electronics & Mechanical Engineering Technology (SEMET) – Matt Moulds, Andres Baute, and Karandeep Singh – led by Prof. Houman Hakima, clinched first place at the Siemens Realize Live 2024 Design Hack competition. Competing against teams from various universities, they impressed the judges with their innovative solution to redesign the weighing scales used by Andretti Racing for their INDY 500 cars.

They presented their design to the Siemens OEM Council, which consists of industry giants like Ford, Northrop Grumman, GM, and Boeing, and will attend the Detroit Grand Prix later this year. Building on their second place win in 2023, this victory displays their Siemens expertise and creative problem-solving skills.

Congratulations to the team, we are #SenecaProud of you!
