Another day, another award for the Faculty of Communication, Art & Design (FCAD)!

We are delighted to share that End of the Line, a 2D animation short film directed by Marc Salvatore Lajoie — a 2023 graduate of the three-year Animation advanced diploma program from the School of Creative Arts & Animation — was recently awarded the Best Animated Short Film at the 2024 Markham International Film Festival.

This is the film’s third award, as it had already received awards at the 311 Jikosapo International Film Festival earlier this year in Japan and at the Toronto Animation Arts Festival International in 2023. It was also in contention at 10 other film festivals. It joins other recent award-winning animation short films from FCAD such as Clouded and Fly Away, Froggy Boy.

End of the Line explores the topics of loss and anxiety from the perspective of Taylor, the main character of the film.
