Intellectual property is a hot topic in terms of research and commercialization. It refers to an idea, invention or work, which is legally owned. Common types of IP include copyright, patents, trademark and trade secrets.

Seneca Polytechnic and York University are teaming up to offer a virtual session on IP essentials geared toward research. You can learn about property rights, strategies and best practices in the presentation.

The free webinar is being presented by Seneca’s Applied Research, HELIX, Seneca’s innovation and entrepreneurship incubator, the IP Innovation Clinic and York University’s Office of the Vice-President Research & Innovation.

It will be held Thursday, Oct. 31 from noon to 1 p.m. For more information and to register, please click on the eventbrite listing.
