The Seneca Sting women’s soccer team are once again vying to prove themselves to be the best in the country after a big win this week in the Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) quarterfinals.
Last year, the Sting became the first Ontario-based squad to win the Canadian Collegiate Athletics CCAA championship in women’s soccer.
This week, the team is in Squamish, B.C., looking to defend their title.
The Sting advanced to the semifinals after defeating the Brandon Bobcats this past Wednesday. Yoana Peralta and Martina Pannia led the efforts, each scoring a goal in the quarterfinal match.
Seneca’s next match, a semifinal against les Nomades de Montmorency, takes place Thursday at 6 p.m. It can be streamed live on the CCAA website.
Depending on Thursday’s result, the Sting will play for either a gold or bronze medal on Saturday afternoon.
