The 2025 Ontario provincial election has been scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 27, with polling stations open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Please note that the date coincides with the first day of the Winter 2025 Convocation.

Here is a quick guide to help you navigate the voting process:

  • Eligibility: To vote, you must be 18 years or older on election day, a Canadian citizen, and a resident of Ontario.
  • Choosing Your Address: If you live in two places (one while attending school and another while not in school), select which address you consider your home address for registration and voting.
  • Voting options:
    • In-person: Vote at your local polling station. Bring your voter information card (VIC) and one piece of ID showing your name. If you don’t have a VIC, bring ID showing both your name and home address.
    • By mail: If you are studying outside Ontario, you can vote by mail by adding yourself to the Register of Absentee Voters. You will receive a voting kit when an election is called.
  • ID requirements: Accepted IDs include an Ontario driver’s licence, phone bill, student card, or school transcript. These can be shown on a mobile device.

For more detailed information, refer to the Post-Secondary Student Voting Guide.

Make sure to exercise your right to vote and have a say in your future!
