To help raise awareness of green initiatives at Seneca Polytechnic, Sustainable Seneca has scheduled fun and informative programming across multiple campuses throughout the first week of April.
Here are the Sustainability Days on Campus events and initiatives to look out for.
Sustainable menu and fair trade coffee tasting
Enjoy a delicious plant-based treat at Newnham Campus cafeteria from Monday, March 31, to Thursday, April 3.
You can also sample the new fair trade coffee at Willie T's Café during a tasting event on Wednesday, April 2, from noon to 1 p.m. Willie T's Café is located at Newnham Campus, Building D, Level 1, in The Pond, Newnham’s cafeteria.
Seneca Honey sale
Seneca, in partnership with SSF, is hosting a Seneca Honey sale featuring our own pure, unpasteurized wildflower honey harvested at Peterborough Campus. This event will take place at King Campus, Magna Hall, in the Northern Hive (MH1510) on Wednesday, April 2, from noon to 2 p.m.
The following jar sizes will be available:
45 g for $3
190 ml for $8
500 g for $12
1 kg for $18
Payments can be made with credit and debit cards and via e-transfer.
Clothing exchange
Seneca and the SSF will host a clothing swap event aimed at encouraging our community to bring gently used clothing and exchange it for something new. The event will take place on Thursday, April 3, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Drop off clothing between 11 a.m. and noon, and stay for the exchange, running from noon to 2 p.m. The swap will be held at Seneca@York Campus, in The Hive (S2006).
