What are the Seneca Polytechnic Awards? | MyNews | Seneca Students

Every year, the Seneca Polytechnic Awards celebrate the achievements of our students and the generosity of our donors – many of whom are Seneca employees.

Students feted at the event include Student Leadership Award recipients and recipients of donor-funded awards. This invite-only event not only honours outstanding students but also provides a unique opportunity for students to connect with award donors.

Students find the supports they receive very meaningful and helpful. Here is what some of this year’s recipients had to say:

“Moving across the world is hard, and moving alone is even harder. Your financial support came just at a crucial moment for me as I have been struggling to afford my basic expenses and was so worried about the future.” 

“Receiving financial support … fills me with a profound sense of gratitude and appreciation. This award has not only supported my academic journey but also empowered me to pursue additional learning opportunities, such as specialized training, professional certifications, and participation in conferences and workshops.”

Feeling inspired? Many awards, bursaries and scholarships are open for applications in September and close October 31. Details can be found on MySeneca’s Financial Aid page. Applications for Tuition Assistance Bursaries are open at the beginning of each semester. Student Leadership Awards will open in December 2025 and students will receive an email with more information.
