These are just a few reasons as to why you should check out this year’s Sustainability Days on Campus — presented by Sustainable Seneca — on March 2-5:
Celebrate Canada’s SDG Month by exploring how Seneca’s sustainability initiatives connect to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as you go on the in-person SDG Scavenger Hunt between noon and 3 p.m.
Hosted in partnership with the Seneca Student Federation (SSF) and open to all current students, this interactive activity offers you an opportunity to learn more about Seneca’s sustainability efforts and deepen your understanding of the SDGs.
Complete the scavenger hunt for a chance to win great prizes, including a free entry to the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada in downtown Toronto!
To be eligible for the raffle, please complete this form and submit it between noon and 3 p.m. on Monday, March 2 (you will need to enter your Seneca student email address). Only one entry per person will be accepted, regardless of the number of registrations.
Register by Friday, Feb. 27 to secure your spot.
Got a job interview coming up? Then make sure to stop by the Career Threads Pop-up at anytime from 10 a.m. to noon.
Hosted with the SSF, this is an opportunity for you to receive free business attire for career-related occasions like job interviews and networking events.
If you wish to donate as well, you can bring and drop off any of the following items at The Hive (Room S2006, Stephen E. Quinlan Building) from 9 a.m. to noon:
Please make sure the items you bring are dry, bagged and/or hung on hangers prior to donating.
Career Threads is available Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room D2337, Building D, Newnham Campus. Each student can receive up to three pieces per term.
Seneca, in partnership with the SSF and the Environmental Landscape Management program, is hosting a Plant and Honey Sale from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Northern Hive (Room MH1510, Magna Hall).
Peruse student-made terrariums and a variety of student-grown plants, including tropicals, Peperomia and succulents like aloe, Echeveria, jade, snake and spider plants. All are available in four- and six-inch pots.
Jars of Seneca’s own raw, unpasteurized wildflower honey are also available. Harvested at our King and Newnham campuses, each jar costs $20 and contains 1 kg of honey.
Make sure to bring either your credit or debit card, as only those methods of payment are accepted.
Following the sale, you are invited to join the King Recreation team for a 45-minute guided wellness walk around King Campus, starting at 1:30 p.m. from the Northern Hive. If you are interested in the wellness walk, then please register by Friday, Feb. 27.
You can enjoy Fairtrade coffee at The Market — located within The Pond, Newnham’s cafeteria — all year long. Bring your own mug and you’ll receive a 10‑cent discount on your purchase.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., we’ll also be hosting a tabling event in The Pond to promote the Friendlier reusable container program and its refund system. It’s a great chance to learn how the program works and how you can take part.
