Across postsecondary campuses in Canada, more students than ever are navigating mental health challenges. Over the past two decades, polytechnics, colleges and universities have seen a significant rise in serious concerns, including anxiety and depression.

Here at Seneca Polytechnic, we also know that when you reach out for counselling support, how and when you can access care matters. You’ve told us you want more timely appointment scheduling and choice in appointment times, including evenings and weekends and care that is culturally responsive and reflects your lived experience.

In response, and to better support your wellbeing, we’re strengthening our mental health supports through a new model. Working with our long-standing partner Dalton & Associates, we’ll offer more timely, targeted and flexible counselling options with access to counsellors with experience in specific industries and fields of study.

How to access our services:

  • Learn more information about the new model
  • Students currently receiving the support of a counsellor have been sent an email with next steps
  • Students registered with Accessible Learning Services will continue to book appointments with their assigned Accessibility Counsellor through the student portal
