Seneca Film Institute students played a key role in rebranding a fixture of the Toronto arts scene.
Led by Lillian Chan, Professor, School of Creative Arts & Animation, the students created an animation that will play in theatres before every Reel Asian film screening.
Reel Asian, previously known as the Toronto Reel Asian Film Festival, is one of the leading platforms for Asian artists and storytelling in Canada.
Students involved in the video’s creation were invited to join the organization’s staff, sponsors, filmmakers and community partners at a special event on May 27 held to commemorate Reel Asian’s 30th anniversary and reveal its new brand identity.
The animation will also be seen at one of Toronto’s busiest public gathering spaces this October and November, when it will be displayed on a screen at Sankofa Square.
