Seneca is once again partnering with North York General Hospital (NYGH) and the North York Toronto Health Partners to offer COVID-19 vaccines at the Newnham Campus gymnasium. The clinic will also provide work integrated learning opportunities for Seneca students in various programs, including nursing.
Don Valley North MPP Vincent Ke, Toronto Mayor John Tory and Toronto City Councillor Joe Cressy visited Newnham Campus to officially re-open the clinic and take part in a tour with Renata D’Innocenzo, Seneca’s Vice-President, Students and Strategy, David Neale, Executive Director, Campus Services and Facilities, and Karyn Popovich, President and CEO, NYGH.
Those 30 and over are encouraged to book first and second doses at the Seneca clinic. Available appointments will be posted at the NYGH website.
Mayor Tory spoke with many of those receiving vaccines and thanked Seneca and NYGH personnel for their support of the clinic. Councillor Cressy cited Seneca’s partnership with NYGH as a model for responding to the Omicron variant.
“This partnership is the embodiment of the ‘Team Toronto’ spirit that is driving this entire vaccination campaign,” said Councillor Cressy. “Not only is Seneca providing facilities, it is also providing training and support through its students. This model is a lesson for the future and other postsecondary institutions.”
The first NYGH vaccination clinic at Seneca, which operated from March to August 2021, administered 143,140 COVID-19 vaccine doses.
May I know if it's only Moderna or if both Moderna and Pfizer are available?
Hello Benny: At this time, the NYGH vaccination clinic at Newnham Campus is only offering Moderna.
Thank you for the quick response.
