Seneca Talks returns with special guest, former governor general Michaëlle Jean. Ms. Jean is a former Canadian journalist and served as the Governor General of Canada, the 27th since Canadian Confederation, from 2005 to 2010. She is the first Haitian Canadian and Black person to hold this office. Ms. Jean was also the first woman to be the secretary-general of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie. She came to Canada in 1968 as a refugee from Haiti and was raised in the town of Thetford Mines, Quebec.
