Why are the accommodations considered Interim/temporary?
Seneca Polytechnic and Accessible Learning Services offer support to students with both permanent and temporary disabilities. Students with temporary conditions are provided temporary accommodations based on the direction of the medical documentation/functional assessment provided. Whereas permanent accommodations are put in place for the duration of study.
Interim supports are also available while waiting for additional documentation or while more long-term accommodations are finalized.
Specific documentation and accommodation process may vary from one institution to another, so it's important to work closely with Seneca Polytechnic's Accessible Learning Services office to ensure you receive the support you need.
What if I still require accommodation but my documentation is now out of date?
The ALS office will work with you to ensure that you have the appropriate accommodations in place to support your academic participation and help you to connect with a health care professional to update your documentation on file.
