Alternate format as an academic accommodation can take on two forms: digital and print. This form of accommodation is based on the specific functional impacts of a student’s disability and determined by the disability documentation in the ALS student file. When documentation supports it, Accessibility Counsellors work with students to include “alternate format texts” as an approved academic accommodation on their letter of accommodation and work with staff in the Library to facilitate the Alternate Format request for students.
