How Much Funding Might I Receive?

The funding amount you may receive depends on the costs of the eligible disability-related services and equipment you require. If you have a permanent, persistent, or prolonged disability, you could be considered for funding through both the BSWD and the CSG-DSE.

Each request for services or equipment is reviewed based on your specific disability-related needs. Information from your healthcare provider (e.g., physician or regulated health care professional) and from Accessible Learning Services (ALS) will help determine which costs may be eligible for funding.

You may receive partial or full funding for eligible services or equipment, but approved amounts are subject to maximum limits, meaning some costs may not be fully covered.

All funding decisions are made exclusively by the provincial and/or federal funding providers.

Non-Eligible Expenses

The following expenses are not eligible for funding:

• Costs associated with general participation in post-secondary studies, such as textbooks, living expenses, or a computer needed for all students to access virtual courses or use standard software required for the course.
• Disability-related expenses that are required for daily life, such as hearing aids, which are needed regardless of post-secondary participation.
