SEAT - new experiential learning course from SELS!

On behalf of Irene Kanurkas, Chair, School of English and Liberal Studies

Hi everyone,

The School of English and Liberal Studies is excited to announce a new experiential learning opportunity for students.

Our first SEAT course runs this fall, and we need your help to spread the word to students in your diploma programs.

SEAT stands for SELS Experiential Academic Travel.

Our first SEAT is NAT248: The Sustainable Forest - Haliburton. Details about the course and how to register are here.

Highlights:

  • Students can earn one General Education Elective Credit in the Sciences and Social Sciences Category.
  • Delivery Mode: Hybrid. The course includes an in-person orientation session, followed by five weeks of asynchronous online learning and concluding with a three day, two night stay on the grounds of Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve in Haliburton, Ontario.
  • Course concludes on Friday, October 25, 2024
  • Fee of $462.50 in addition to regular tuition fees covers roundtrip transportation to Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve from Newnham Campus, accommodations, meals, and admittance to tours and Wolf Centre.

Please note: This opportunity is open to students who have completed one semester at Seneca and are enrolled in a full-time program with a Sciences/Social Sciences General Education requirement.

Enrollment closes on August 12th
