If you have already applied for a specific award, you cannot submit a second application for the same award within the same academic year. Your original application will be reviewed along with new submissions.

The Ontario First Generation Bursary

The Ontario First Generation Bursary (OFGB) supports financially needy Ontario students whose parents never attended postsecondary education, provided they study at a public college or university in Ontario.

You may be eligible for this bursary if meet the following requirements:

• You’re attending a publicly-assisted college or university in Ontario
• You’re in an approved postsecondary academic program (e.g. degree and diploma programs) or training program (e.g. apprenticeships).
• You meet citizenship and Ontario residency requirements as outlined on the OSAP Application for Full-Time Students.
• You have demonstrated financial need based on the criteria as set out by your school.

Indigenous Student Bursary

The Indigenous Student Bursary provides aid to Indigenous students with financial need who are attending either:

• a publicly–assisted colleges and universities in Ontario
• an approved Aboriginal institute in Ontario

You may be eligible for this bursary if meet the following requirements:

• You’re attending a publicly-assisted college or university in Ontario or an approved Aboriginal institute in Ontario.
• You’re in an approved postsecondary academic program (e.g. degree and diploma programs) or training program (e.g. apprenticeships).
• You self-identify as being an Indigenous person in Canada (see definition, below).
• You meet citizenship and Ontario residency requirements as outlined on the OSAP Application for Full-Time Students.
• You have demonstrated financial need based on the criteria as set out by your school.

Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship

Value: $10,000
Deadline: February 15, 2026

In response to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, on April 6, 2022, the provincial government announced the creation of a $1.9 million Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship to support students attending Ontario’s publicly assisted colleges and universities. The purpose of these funds is to provide support to students directly or indirectly impacted by the Ukrainian conflict or students impacted by other conflicts.

Catherine & Maxwell Meighen Foundation Bursary, The *

Award Number: 200490

Awarded to students who have completed the Academic Upgrading program in the current academic year and state their intent to attend another postsecondary program soon at Seneca (not Academic Upgrading). Selection is based on stated intent. Recipients demonstrate financial need.

Cathy James Memorial Award

This award was established in honour and memory of former faculty member Cathy James. Awarded to graduating students in the Liberal Arts University Transfer program or the Arts and Science - University Transfer program who are pursuing undergraduate studies with Seneca’s university partners and demonstrate financial need. In addition, the recipient will have outstanding academic performance, demonstrated compassion and integrity, proven collegiality and sincerity, academic curiosity and intellectual passion. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents. The recipients will be recommended by faculty.

Ermine Drummond Second Chance Endowed Bursary

Awarded to a student enrolled in the College Opportunities Program. Preference is given to a student who has good academic performance, demonstrated commitment to working to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their career/educational goals, good work ethic and attitude. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents, have demonstrated financial need and completed at least one semester of study. Selection will be made on faculty members’recommendation. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who volunteer in the college or in the community, verified by a letter of reference.

FCE Student Levy Bursary      

Ji Hun Memorial Award*

Award Number: 200184

Awarded to a full-time English Language Institute (ELI) student in good academic standing who shows leadership, embraces diversity and demonstrates active engagement on campus and in the wider community. The recipient is an international student that has completed level 8 and is now in a full-time program at Seneca. The recipient will be recommended by an ELI Committee and faculty. This award is established in memory of Ji Hun Kim, a Korean ELI student who was a model student and actively engaged in her studies and the community beyond the classroom. She is remembered as a force of positivity and intellectual curiosity.

John Kinrade Memorial/SSF Scholarship     

Learning & Leadership Laureate*

Awarded to a graduating student in the LAT program who maintains a GPA of 3.0 and  is intending to enroll in a degree program. They have shown growth in their learning, mindset and resilience by demonstrating leadership and collaboration in the classroom environment and have consistently upheld academic integrity.

Malca Litovitz Prize for Creative Writing Bursary

Award for creative writing to be given to a Seneca student who most demonstrates Malca's qualities of creativity and commitment to writing.  Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents with demonstrated financial need.

Matt Felton Memorial Bursary*

Awarded to a part-time student in the Digital Graphic Design program who demonstrates financial need and has overcome hardship in pursuit of their education. Established in memory of Matt Felton who pursued his passion in web development and truly loved his job. He is remembered for his patience, calm nature, positivity and his wonderful sense of humour.

McCullough Legacy Sting Leadership Scholarship 

Award Number: 200253

This award honours a student who leaves a lasting impact on the Seneca Sting community through exceptional leadership and meaningful contributions to athletics and recreation. The recipient demonstrates excellence in athletic performance or in their role within the department, while also showing a strong commitment to progressing in their academic program. This award was established by Gillian McCullough—former national team athlete and dedicated Seneca employee—whose example inspires staff and students to create positive change and leave a lasting legacy. 

Patricia Kemp Memorial Bursary

Awarded to a student enrolled in College Opportunities, Youth to Postsecondary, or Academic Upgrading. Preference is given to a student who has good academic performance, demonstrated commitment to working to overcome obstacles in pursuit of their career/educational goals, good work ethic and attitude. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons and Ontario residents, have demonstrated financial need and completed at least one semester of study. Selection will be made on faculty members’ recommendation. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who volunteer in the college or in the community, verified by a letter of reference.

Awarded to full-time domestic students in the Infant and Early Child Mental Health program. The recipients demonstrate high academic achievement (min GPA of 3.5), involvement with community or extra-curricular activities, and financial need. Preference will be given to previous award recipients provided they continue to meet the award criteria. The recipients will be recommended by faculty.
