On January 8, 2020, a Ukrainian airliner crashed near Tehran, Iran. Victims of the crash included 57 Canadians. Among the victims, 34 people were employed at or studying in universities and colleges in Ontario. In remembrance of the victims and to commemorate the talent that was lost, Ontario will continue to provide publicly-assisted postsecondary institutions with funding for dedicated scholarships for the 2024-2025, 2025-2026, and 2026-27 academic years. The value of each scholarship is $10,000

In response to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, on April 6, 2022, the provincial government announced the creation of a $1.9 million Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship to support students attending Ontario’s publicly assisted colleges and universities. The purpose of these funds is to provide support to students directly or indirectly impacted by the Ukrainian conflict or students impacted by other conflicts.

The Ontario eSports Scholarship is an award provided to Ontario postsecondary students in video gaming and related programs at participating institutions.
This scholarship will offer financial assistance to high-achieving domestic students with financial needs enrolled in programs related to the video-gaming industry that may lead to a career in the video-gaming or eSports fields.

The recipient will have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and demonstrate financial need. The recipient will be a dedicated and driven student who is committed to their studies. Preference will be given to a student who accesses accommodations and services from Seneca College’s Accessibility Services. The recipient will be recommended by faculty. Joseph Gossin was a respected member of the community. His vision was to achieve success in several entrepreneurial endeavours over his lifetime despite never having the privilege of attending post-secondary education.

Awarded to a full-time student in Civil Engineering Technology. The recipient will have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and demonstrate financial need. The recipient will be a dedicated and driven student who is committed to their studies. Preference will be given to a student who accesses accommodations and services from Seneca College’s Accessibility Services. The recipient will be recommended by faculty. Mr. Linden designations TBC was a dedicated professor at Seneca College for over 20 years. He loved to teach, help others, and share his wisdom.

Awarded to a full-time student in the Non-Profit & Social Sector Management (NPM) graduate certificate program. The recipient demonstrates financial need and a commitment to the sector through extra-curricular activities related to their program. The recipients will be recommended by faculty.

An award is given to a full-time student, who is enrolled in the Broadcasting-Radio program within the School of Media. The recipient will achieve excellence in on-air radio broadcasting and have demonstrated financial need. The selection of a recipient will be made by faculty members. Awarded to a student in the final year of the Visual Merchandising Arts program. The selection is based on academic achievement, strong graphic skills, and a creative design sense. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need. The selection of a recipient is made by faculty members.
Two awards to students in the first year of the Visual Merchandising Arts program who are returning in the second term. The recipients will have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate excellence in their work. Three awards will be given to students in the second year of the Visual Merchandising Arts program. The recipients will have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and have achieved the highest level of academic excellence. Eligible students must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons, Ontario residents and have demonstrated financial need. The selection of recipients are made by faculty members.

Awarded to students enrolled in the Esthetician or the Esthetics and Spa programs. The recipients shall have sound academic standing, above average dedication, compassion and caring, demonstrated leadership and involvement in community or Seneca's student life. Awarded to a student entering the Fashion Arts program on a full-time basis who is coming directly from a Canadian high school. The recipient should have strong academic standing and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewable annually, provided the recipient maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0, continues to demonstrate financial need and is enrolled full-time. This scholarship was established by The Honourable Dr. Vivienne Poy, a distinguished Seneca alumna.

Awarded to second year students in the Business Insurance program. The recipients will have a cumulative program grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrated financial need. Students will have passed at least two Insurance Institute of Canada exams. The recipients will be recommended by faculty.

Awarded to a full-time English Language Institute (ELI) student in good academic standing who shows leadership, embraces diversity and demonstrates active engagement on campus and in the wider community. The recipient is an international student that has completed level 8 and is now in a full-time program at Seneca. The recipient will be recommended by an ELI Committee and faculty. This award is established in memory of Ji Hun Kim, a Korean ELI student who was a model student and actively engaged in her studies and the community beyond the classroom. She is remembered as a force of positivity and intellectual curiosity.

Awarded to a graduating student in the LAT program who maintains a GPA of 3.0 and is intending to enroll in a degree program. They have shown growth in their learning, mindset and resilience by demonstrating leadership and collaboration in the classroom environment and have consistently upheld academic integrity.

Awarded to a graduating student in the Radio – Broadcasting program based on academic standing, leadership, and all-round achievement. Established in honour of ‘Real Roy’ Hennessy who had a distinguished career in Canadian radio and is remembered for his energy and passion for radio.
