Awards Open for Application

Seneca awards are available at different times throughout the academic year. The main application period is in the Fall, with additional opportunities available during the Summer and Winter terms.

Already submitted an application?

If you submitted an awards application earlier in the 2026–2027 academic year, return to your existing application to view and apply for awards that are currently open and for which you may be eligible.

If you have already applied for a specific award, you cannot submit a second application for the same award within the same academic year. Your original application will be reviewed along with new submissions.

Summer

A limited number of Entrance Awards are available from mid-July to mid-August.

Fall

The main award application period takes place in the Fall, with the majority of awards typically open from September to October 31.

If you applied during the summer for the current academic year, remember to return to your existing application to apply for Fall awards.

Winter

Leadership awards are open for application from mid-December to mid-January.

First Nations Resource Development Scholarship

The First Nations Resource Development Scholarship is open to all status and non status First Nations students enrolled in an eligible resource development-related program at a publicly assisted college, university or Indigenous Institute in Ontario. Students will need to be members of or connected to a First Nation community in Ontario.

Ontario First Generation Bursary

The Ontario First Generation Bursary (OFGB) supports financially needy Ontario students whose parents never attended postsecondary education, provided they study at a public college or university in Ontario.

You may be eligible for this bursary if meet the following requirements:

• You’re attending a publicly-assisted college or university in Ontario
• You’re in an approved postsecondary academic program (e.g. degree and diploma programs) or training program (e.g. apprenticeships).
• You meet citizenship and Ontario residency requirements as outlined on the OSAP Application for Full-Time Students.
• You have demonstrated financial need based on the criteria as set out by your school.

Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship

Value: $10,000
Deadline: February 15, 2027

In response to the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, on April 6, 2022, the provincial government announced the creation of a $1.9 million Ontario-Ukraine Solidarity Scholarship to support students attending Ontario’s publicly assisted colleges and universities. The purpose of these funds is to provide support to students directly or indirectly impacted by the Ukrainian conflict or students impacted by other conflicts.

Indigenous Student Bursary

The Indigenous Student Bursary provides aid to Indigenous students with financial need who are attending either:

• a publicly–assisted colleges and universities in Ontario
• an approved Aboriginal institute in Ontario

You may be eligible for this bursary if meet the following requirements:

• You’re attending a publicly-assisted college or university in Ontario or an approved Aboriginal institute in Ontario.
• You’re in an approved postsecondary academic program (e.g. degree and diploma programs) or training program (e.g. apprenticeships).
• You self-identify as being an Indigenous person in Canada (see definition, below).
• You meet citizenship and Ontario residency requirements as outlined on the OSAP Application for Full-Time Students.
• You have demonstrated financial need based on the criteria as set out by your school.
