Ad Standards Scholarships

Value: $2500
Deadline: March 12, 2026

Eligibility:

• Is enrolled in an undergraduate advertising or marketing program at a Canadian university or college.
• Demonstrates academic excellence, a commitment to volunteerism, and an interest in pursuing a career in advertising or marketing.
• Scholarships are awarded to:
• One student enrolled in an undergraduate advertising or marketing program at a primarily English college or university.
• One student enrolled in an undergraduate advertising or marketing program at a primarily French college or university.
• One student enrolled in an undergraduate advertising or marketing program at an English or French college or university who identifies as being part of an underrepresented community in the Canadian advertising and marketing industry.

EnergyRates.Ca College Scholarship 2027

Value: $500
Deadline: January 31, 2027

The energy industry has always lived with one foot in the present and the other in the future. With many major projects—power plants, dams, pipelines—having development times measured in decades, success depends upon anticipating the needs of companies and countries in the years ahead.

We look forward to seeing what the next great minds bring to this ever-transforming industry, and want to do our part in assisting those great minds achieve their goals and dreams. This is why Energy Rates is offering a $500 scholarship to any student enrolled in an American or Canadian post-secondary educational institution. Whether you need to pay for your classes or textbooks, or just to put food on the table this semester, it’s yours to do with as you please. All you have to do to be considered for the scholarship is write an essay, no more than 500 words in length, telling us where you see the future of the energy industry. Helen Ferris Award

Value: $1,000 for Library and/or Information Technician Diploma Students
Deadline: March 31

Helen Ferris taught at Connaught School in the City.  After her retirement, she moved to Christopher Lake.  Her father, Mr. Gillmor, was the first Mayor of the City of Prince Albert.  She left two bequests to this Library.  The first bequest had two parts.  She requested that a plaque be displayed in the Library with the following wording:  “In memory of Mary E. Gillmor and all women residents of the City of Prince Albert and area prior to 1900.”  The second part requested that the net annual income from the money provided was to be used for an annual scholarship or bursary to assist students of the Prince Albert area to study library sciences.

Eligibility: 

• Students must be enrolled full-time in either an ALA accredited Canadian graduate program of library and/or information sciences, or an accredited Canadian Library Technician Diploma Program.
• Students' permanent address must be of a city, town, village, rural municipality, or reserve located within the boundaries of the Wapiti Regional Library.
• To clarify, even if the student has moved out of the province or Wapiti Region for schooling, if their permanent address is still listed within the region they qualify to apply.
• Students may only receive the Helen Ferris award one time. If a student has already received the award in previous years, they will not be considered for selection.
• Students must return the filled out application form, and a letter expressing interest in the Helen Ferris award that outlines a discussion on professional goals and areas of interest, related work, volunteer experience, and any other relevant information.

Orvil L. Davie Memorial Fund

Value: $1000
Deadline: March 15 and November 30

The purpose of the fund is to assist students in completing their education for a career in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigerating industry (HVACR) and to assist in maintaining a higher caliber of HVACR industry personnel. The fund provides bursaries to persons who require financial assistance in completing training in an accepted course directly related to the HVACR industry. Applicants for the bursaries may come from the community or vocational college systems, or through industry sources such as the provincial apprenticeship programs.

Out on Patrol Scholarship

Value: $4500

Out on Patrol has launched a scholarship fund and in-school presentation series to promote a positive atmosphere for 2SLGBTQ+ youth and act as role models for the next generation of members of law enforcement.

Smart Serve Scholarships

Value: $2,000
Deadline: August 15, 2026

For the past two years, yconic and Student Awards have partnered with Smart Serve to award 100 students a $2,000 scholarship for those graduating from an Ontario high school and entering a hospitality, tourism, or culinary program at an Ontario college or university. Applicants are chosen by random draw, which means no grades, essays or references are required to apply.

Eligibility: 

• Legal resident of Canada who has reached at least 16 years of age;

• Current grade 12 student or recent graduate (within the last 12 months) of an Ontario high school;
• Must be enrolled or intend to be enrolled in your first year of a Hospitality and Tourism program at an Ontario post-secondary school for the fall of 2026.

Stantec Future Leaders Scholarship

The Stantec Future Leaders Scholarship supports the next generation of changemakers – students who are committed to making a difference in their industries and communities.

Each year, Stantec awards $200,000 in scholarships and up to 10 paid internships to students pursuing degrees in science, technology,  engineering, arts/architecture, and mathematics (STEAM) fields. The scholarship is open to students from all backgrounds who demonstrate leadership potential, resilience, and a commitment to shaping a better future.

Eligibility: 

• be enrolled in a college, university, or post-secondary institution in the 2027-28 academic year in pursuit of a Bachelor's or Technical/Vocational degree.
• pursue a STEAM major.

"STEAM" refers to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. For the purposes of this program, it also includes education majors planning to teach STEM.

• demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to making a positive impact in their chosen field or community or have demonstrated perseverance in overcoming challenges or barriers in pursuit of their education and career goals.

The B. Harper Bull Scholarship Awards 2026

Value: $2000
Deadline: November 1

Eligibility

To qualify, students must:

• Be enrolled in a post-secondary degree or diploma program during the 2025-2026 academic year.
• Be completing post-secondary studies in a field that relates broadly to the work of Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). Examples of eligible programs include: Environmental Studies, Landscape Architecture, Archaeology, Museum Studies, Forestry, and Civil Engineering.
• Reside in or attend a post-secondary institution within TRCA’s jurisdiction.

Students who are currently employed by TRCA or who are immediate family members or relatives of TRCA employees, TRCA board members, or Toronto and Region Conservation Foundation board members are not eligible to apply.

WeTogether Scholarship

Value: $2,000
Deadline: October 7

The goal of WeTogether Scholarship program is to support post-secondary students who are enrolled in Canadian Universities or Colleges for Fall 2026, and to assist the next generation of Jane and Finch area community leaders with financial support during their academic year. It is available for all post-secondary students who meet our program eligibilities regardless of race or religions. The program supports 7-9 students annually with $2,000 per student. Eligibility: 

• Students currently enrolled in Canadian Universities or Colleges with minimum average of 70% or B-
• Age between 18-35 inclusive (driver’s license or phone bill to be brought for the interview)
• Place of Residence within Jane & Finch area: M3J, M3K, M3M, M3N, M9L, M9M using FSA (first 3 digits of the postal code) — driver’s license or phone bill to be brought for the interview

WTS Toronto Indigenous Scholarship

Deadline: applications are accepted year-round

Eligibility:

• Is registered full-time at a post-secondary institution in the Toronto and Greater Hamilton Area and the Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph area.  See full list of eligible institutions below.
• Is pursuing a degree which will lead to a career focused on transportation, such as: architecture, engineering (all disciplines), mathematics, geography, political science, policy, economics, finance, planning, environmental science, communications, and more. (programs not listed may qualify if the student can provide an explanation of how their studies will lead to a career in transportation).
• Has a demonstrable interest in promoting the advancement of gender diversity within the transportation industry.
• Demonstrates strong academic performance
• Past WTS Toronto Area Chapter Scholarship award recipients are not eligible for subsequent awards.
• In addition to the above requirements for regular scholarships, proof of ancestry for postsecondary school students who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit). Indigenous Scholarships are open nationally to any full-time student registered in a Canadian post-secondary institution.
