Building Environmental Systems - BES™ is the most highly recognized certification for building operators in Canada. Seneca College's Building Environmental Systems (BES) programs adhere to the fundamental premise that the building is a holistic system in which heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical power, lighting, water and air supply are connected and interdependent. They focus on the knowledge required to understand the functioning of all systems in commercial, institutional and residential buildings with a strong emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency. The programs also cover how buildings can be operated and maintained more efficiently.
More information regarding the new BES textbooks can be found in the link in the left navigation pane.
Seneca College, in partnership with the Independent Energy System Operator, also offers IESO's Energy Mangement program. It is a ten module program of energy management training processes for those managing directing and directly engaged in the efficient operation of buildings from both a financial and operational perspective.
More information on the IESO Energy Management Program can be found in the IESO link in the left navigation pane.
Current students who are looking for the SAQs associated with their BES textbooks, as well as the BES Videos, can find each item linked in the left navigation pane.
