Scholastic standard

• If you fail to achieve scholastic standard, you will be put on academic probation for OSAP purposes.
• A signed acknowledgement of academic probation form is required in order to be considered for future OSAP funding.
• While you may continue to be eligible for further OSAP during your academic probation period, you will need to successfully achieve the required course credits to maintain OSAP eligibility.
• You will not be eligible for OSAP for a minimum of one year if you do not successfully complete courses during your probationary period.

The Student Financial Assistance Branch, Ministry of Colleges and Universities will audit all OSAP files.

• Income information will be verified with Canada Revenue Agency.
• SIN, name and date of birth, will be verified with Department of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
• Credit status will be checked with a consumer reporting agency.

About disbursements

The enrolment confirmation will happen for each disbursement. For most students, this will happen at the start of each term. If you are only attending one term, the second disbursement will be made during the study week.

Changes that can affect your OSAP entitlement

• Any income or expected income to be received during the school year from external scholarships, bursaries, work-study, investments and more.
• changes to your study-period, academic program or course load, financial or family status.

If changes to your income or course load occur, you must:

• declare the income or expected income to be received using the OSAP income update form during the study period as they will be used to calculate your entitlement.
• notify the Financial Aid Office in writing about changes to your study period, academic program or course load, financial or family status.



Updating your address

Please ensure you update your permanent mailing address with:

• Financial Aid Office
• Office of the Registrar
• National Student Loan Service Centre

Changing your address with the Registration and Records Office does not update your OSAP file. To update your address for your OSAP record, you must make the change online through your OSAP account.
