We invite you to participate in a special series of workshops and events to help you launch your career. Participate whenever you can throughout the week and discover how you can benefit from these career-oriented learning experiences: career workshops and chats, virtual reality demonstration of a practice interview, alumni spotlight and more.

Monday, July 15

InStage Live: Virtual Reality Demo for Practice Interviews and Presentations | 10:45 to 11:35 a.m. EDT | Register

InStage Live is an opportunity to observe real people as they use virtual reality to practice for job interviews, keynote presentations, press conferences, customer meetings, and much more. As a viewer, you can help participants improve by filling out feedback polls throughout the broadcast. The InStage Live community is designed to foster a constructive learning environment where viewers and participants can learn from each other and improve together.

Join our virtual workshop to learn about how to prepare and deliver presentations effectively. 

Academic Pathways: Pathways to Further Education | 2:25 to 3:15 p.m. EDT | Register

In this session you will learn about possible educational pathways after your program and get an opportunity to connect with representatives from our Academic Pathways Office to ask your questions.


Tuesday, July 16

Identifying your Skills | 10:45 to 11:35 a.m. EDT | Register 

This workshop will help you to define different types of skills and reflect on skills needed in the workplace. Identify skills you have developed from experiences and learn about skills required for various career areas.

Work-related Regulations and Working in Canada for International Students | 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. EDT | Register 

In partnership with International Student Services, this session will cover work regulations, temporary policy changes, workplace expectations, job search tips, your rights at work and other available resources.

Job Search Skills | 3:20 to 4:10 p.m. EDT | Register 

Join us to Learn how to prepare for & get organized for an effective job search. In this virtual workshop, you will learn how to conduct an effective job search using a variety of strategies, think creatively about where to look for jobs, identify the difference between visible and hidden job market.


Wednesday, July 17

Interview Skills | 9:50 to 10:30 a.m. EDT | Register 

Join our virtual workshop to learn about how to prepare and deliver presentations effectively. In this workshop, you will understand the different stages of an interview, plan and prepare for an interview to develop effective answers. 

Applied Research | 10:45 to 11:35 a.m. EDT | Register 

Seneca Applied Research creates opportunities for students to work on collaborative research projects with Seneca faculty and industry/community partners. Join us to learn about Applied Research, participation options, and how it can assist in achieving your career goals.

LinkedIn | 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. EDT | Register 

Join us to learn how to use LinkedIn and the value of having a LinkedIn account. We will also explore how to make an effective LinkedIn profile to expand your network.

In this workshop, you will learn how to plan and prepare for networking events, introduce yourself and explain what you do, establish, and maintain relationships.

Alumni Spotlight with Nutan Kumari  | 1 to 2 p.m. EDT | Register 

Join us virtually to meet Nutan Kumari, a Seneca graduate from the Project Management - Information Technology (PMC) program. Learn about her career journey in Software Development and get inside tips about the IT industry and how to better prepare for work in the field.
