Seneca Polytechnic Rebrand and ITS Impact for Students

   About ITS rebrand

In early 2023, Seneca’s new Strategic Plan - The Next introduced an exciting new brand identity for Seneca as Seneca Polytechnic. The next phase of this journey is our domain change to senecapolytechnic.ca across our digital infrastructure.

  • Seneca’s websites and online applications will move to our new domain, senecapolytechnic.ca. This includes our main website, Student MySeneca, Library, The Service Hub, and application systems like Student Home and Learn@Seneca (Blackboard).
  • Faculty and staff email addresses will change from senecacollege.ca to senecapolytechnic.ca. Student email addresses will remain the same (myseneca.ca).

   When this will happen

To support our transition, Seneca Polytechnic’s ITS applications and systems will undergo maintenance during the holiday break, starting the afternoon of Dec. 20, with completion expected before Dec. 24.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience during this period as students and employees will experience technology disruptions, which include interrupted access to applications like Student Home for grades, transcripts and graduation letters.

Please expect a delayed response to emails sent to employees and our general inboxes due to limited access until service is restored.

   What you need to do

  • Websites  —  After the domain change, when you access our websites and applications, you'll be automatically redirected to the new URLs, which will now reflect Seneca Polytechnic. Please update your bookmarks.
  • Email contacts  —  Throughout the transition period, emails sent to senecacollege.ca (faculty and staff) email addresses will automatically reach their new senecapolytechnic.ca inbox. We recommend updating your contacts to reflect their new email addresses. Student email addresses will remain the same (myseneca.ca).
  • VPN  —  As a result of our recent domain change, students and employees will need to update their GlobalProtect Virtual Private Network (VPN) settings to the new domain, to ensure uninterrupted access to AS400, Matrix, MyApps, MySQL, MyVault, MyVMLab, Virtual Commons and other applications that require VPN.  Detailed steps on how to update your VPN configurations can be found on MySeneca.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact ITS Service Desk which is available 24-7.
  • Zoom  —  After the domain change, please follow instructions for how to sign into your licensed Zoom account.
