Student Accommodations, Accessibility, and Supports
If a student requires accommodation for their learning, they must register with Accessible Learning Services.
Students who are enrolled in a field placement course with accommodation, are required to meet the learning outcomes. Students with an academic accommodation, may consider speaking with their assigned Accessibility Counsellor to discuss how those accommodations may translate into the placement setting. Accommodations do not surpass the need for safety or supersede academic policies and requirements. Should a health, safety and /or well-being risk emerge that has not previously been identified, students may experience a delay in placement participation until the risk is thoroughly explored and action plan established.
Students are encouraged to discuss field placement success plans with their Accessibility Counsellor and Field Liaison before starting field placement courses. It is important that all students can perform their duties effectively and safely.
