Field Placement Process | School of ECE Field Placement | Seneca Students

The Field Placement Team will assign field placement to each student each semester. 

We pride ourselves with the positive and professional partnerships with many organizations in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) including York Region, Peel, and Durham. Our community partners tell us how many students they can mentor at any given semester. This is what we work with while placing students. Students will placed based on where they live and the campus they are attending.

Please note that all students are expected to commute to placement each semester. Students are placed within reasonable distance of their home campus and/or their local home address. Students must their local mailing address (where they are living while in school) is accurate and up-to-date on Student Home. This is the information that is used when assigning field placements.

There are a number of factors that we take into consideration when assigning field placement. We do not place students where they have any affiliations with; for example where their children attend, where they have or are working and where they have any relations with staff or supervisors. This is to avoid any conflict of interest.  Students will disclose this information to the Field Placement Team as part of the process in getting qualified for field placement.

• Students will be assigned field placement after they have completed ABCD steps. 
• Students are NOT to make their own field placement arrangements
• Students will be expected to travel throughout the Greater Toronto Area for placement.
• Students will their receive placement confirmation and information the week before starting field placement.
