Microsoft uses the term "Copilot" to refer to AI-based assistance integrated across its products and services. While all Copilot versions share core technologies and offer similar functionalities, licensing and implementation variances mean not all features are accessible to all users. Here’s a summary of the Copilot AI options:

    • Microsoft 365 Copilot integrates AI capabilities with your data. It is embedded within Microsoft 365 applications like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams to further enhance productivity. This service is currently unavailable at Seneca but is under review for potential licensing.
    • Copilot with Enterprise Data Protection (licensed to Seneca students and employees) is a generative AI-powered assistant designed to enhance productivity and efficiency offering quick and easy access to an AI chatbot that will answer your questions, generate content, and create images. This version is perfect for both academic and professional environments, thanks to its robust security features.
    • Copilot is freely available and intended for personal use. However, it lacks the necessary protections and is not recommended for school or work use.
    • Copilot Pro offers advanced features like faster performance and priority access. However, it is a paid service tailored for personal use and is not recommended for school or work.
