Can faculty recommend, and students use, unauthorized GenAI tools for assignments?

Subscribe to RSS
  • Can a faculty member recommend, and a student use, an unauthorized GenAI tool if it is considered part of an assignment that specifically directs students to engage with the tool?

  • Answered

As mentioned in the GenAI policy, faculty are requested to consult with ITS and/or Teaching and Learning before deciding to use an unauthorized GenAI platform. Students are reminded that they should not share private or sensitive information in the GenAI tool, especially ones not approved by Seneca.
