Dr. Roohullah Shabon is an accomplished educator and medical doctor with an MBA and postgraduate degrees in health promotion and psychology. He has extensive experience working with international educational institutions, specializing in teaching, social services, and community program development across more than 20 countries. For the past sixteen years, Dr. Shabon has been a professor at Seneca College, focusing on courses related to newcomer settlement, mental health, human trauma, student placement, and diversity.
In addition to his teaching, Dr. Shabon’s expertise spans in-class instruction, curriculum development, international coaching, and mentorship for newcomers. He has also been actively involved in capacity-building initiatives for community-based programs that support immigrants and refugees. His work covers a range of areas, including, governance, community health, nutrition, shelter, rehabilitation for individuals with mental health challenges, addiction, disabilities, and palliative care for marginalized populations.
Currently, in addition to teaching SSW students, he leads the Immigration and Refugee (IR) Club.
