What can a Student Wellbeing Specialist help me with?
Student Wellbeing Specialists are here to help you handle both immediate crises and personal challenges. They can assist with emotional distress, needs navigation (like housing or food insecurity), unexpected personal emergencies, safety planning, advocacy and support with your academic areas, and finding long-term community medical or mental health specialists.
Think of a Student Well-being Specialist as your primary point of contact for navigating life challenges and personal safety. Unlike traditional 1:1 therapy, they focus on immediate, practical support. They are here to help you de-escalate emotional distress, create safety plans, navigate basic needs (like housing or food insecurity), handle unexpected personal emergencies, and act as a bridge to long-term clinical care or community medical teams.
