We explore how AI changes institutions, student engagement and learning, and judgment—through tools, experiments, and conversations.
AI capability appears to double roughly every four to seven months by some measures, shepherding rapid breakthroughs in fundamental research, materials science, and medicine. That pace requires human values, ethical use, and critical thinking, the most important components of the AI Lab’s technical “stack.”
Have a vision for an AI-fueled campus of the future? We’re eager to collaborate with all Seneca students, faculty and employees who have bold, experimental, or unconventional AI ideas.
AI Producers bring forward ideas, challenges, or ongoing feedback, engaging as they see fit. There’s no fixed commitment. But the hope is that collaboration with the lab and Seneca’s experts, shepherding a project you thought of, will get you thinking of AI as something to bring to your practice right now in ways that serve you.

The AI Lab at Seneca was first pitched as a casual incubator for us to build small apps that let people see ways to use emerging AI tools. Lessons learned would be shared across the institution, but the focus would be on rapid prototyping. It’s now a physical space, a central AI hub, that lets students, faculty, and employees access paid versions of leading AI tools. Visitors can decide use cases, define their own projects, see other applications and collaborate on solutions.
