About Seneca Student Leadership Conference (SSLC)

The Seneca Student Leadership Conference (SSLC) brings together Seneca students from across all program areas to develop leadership skills and knowledge while connecting with their peers and the wider Seneca community.  Students will gain knowledge, experience, and opportunities to expand their leadership and networking skills.

About the Conference 

Building Your Path Beyond Seneca is a dynamic virtual session designed to help you move from knowing you're a leader to acting like one, on campus and far beyond.

Through hands-on activities, you'll uncover your personal leadership style using the Leadership Compass self-assessment, map your 5-year vision with the Dream Ladder framework, sharpen your networking skills in live speed-networking rounds, and walk away with a personalized 90-Day Leadership Blueprint complete with milestones and an accountability partner.

Whether you're heading into your first role, launching a venture, or simply figuring out what your leadership looks like in the real world, this session will give you the clarity, tools, and community to take your next bold step with confidence. Come ready to reflect, connect, and commit, because your path beyond Seneca starts here.

Meet the Speaker 

Conroy Thompson is an experienced hospitality professional and higher‑education leader with a strong passion for people development, service excellence, and organizational leadership strategy.

With over 12 years of multi-award winning, leadership experience in Jamaica’s luxury resort sector, including Half Moon, Hilton Rose Hall, and Round Hill, he has trained teams, elevated guest satisfaction, and contributed to Forbes‑rated service standards.

Now based in Toronto, Conroy continues to expand his impact through academic work through coaching, workshop facilitation, and student engagement initiatives. He is committed to helping emerging leaders build confidence, think strategically, and step into roles that positively shape their organizations and communities.

He is a member of the advisory board for Institute of Innovation and Advance Learning (IIAL) and is pursuing doctoral studies in Leadership Excellence at Edgewood University.

He is currently the Guest Relations Manager at Thermea Spa Village in Whitby, Ontario, where he is helping to shape remarkable guest experience through strategic data analysis and learning and development.

Recognition of Conference Attendance

    Conference participants will have the chance to be recognized for their engagement in the conference by receiving a Recognition of Conference Attendance. It will be earned by registering with and participating in the entire conference and completing a reflection exercise. Reflection exercises will be shared with attendees one week after the conference and designed to assess learning.
