What is the BSWD?

The Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD) is a financial assistance program designed to help full-time and part-time post-secondary students cover the costs of disability-related educational services and equipment necessary to fully engage in their studies.

In addition to the BSWD, students may also be eligible for the Canada Student Grant for Services and Equipment for Students with Disabilities (CSG-DSE). These programs are funded by the Ontario and Canadian governments and are intended to reduce barriers for students with disabilities by covering the costs of assistive technologies, specialized services, and other disability-related expenses that support your academic success.

February 14, 2025 at 5:00pm

June 13, 2025 at 5:00pm

Book an Appointment

To book an appointment with ALS to explore your BSWD eligibility, follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Seneca ALS: Student Portal.
  2. Navigate to the "Book an Appointment" icon.
  3. Select the type of appointment you need (BSWD Appointment or AT Appointment).
  4. Select your date/time and "confirm this booking"

Types of Appointments

Our Assistive Technologist (AT) team offer two types of BSWD appointments

  1.  BSWD Appointment: during this 30 minute appointment the AT will complete the application with you and submit it on your behalf.
  2.  AT Appointment: during this 50 minute appointment the AT will explore your funding eligibility and work with you to determine the appropriate requests for the application.
